The Medical Research Council Mitochondrial Biology Unit (MRC MBU) at the University of Cambridge seeks a post‑doctoral Research Associate to join Prof. Michal Minczuk’s group. Funded by the ARIA Precision Mitochondria initiative, the project aims to overcome a major hurdle in mitochondrial medicine: achieving precise genetic manipulation of the mitochondrial genome in living cells and tissues. The successful candidate will establish and apply cutting‑edge experimental approaches to assess mitochondrial membrane integrity, topology, dynamics and function following delivery interventions, employing super‑resolution fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, mitochondrial bioenergetics, single‑cell mtDNA/mtRNA analysis, molecular biology and oxidative phosphorylation assays, and will contribute to validation studies in organoid and mouse models. The role involves close collaboration with industrial partners and offers opportunities to translate discoveries toward therapeutic applications. The appointment is a 12‑‑
